What books are you most looking forward to reading in 2014? Also who are your favorite debut authors of 2013?
My top three favorite debut authors of 2013 are: Amy Tintera with Reboot, Kasie West with Pivot Point, and Rainbow Rowell with Eleanor & Park and Fangirl (Rowell did release an adult novel previously, but this was her YA debut year).
And I’m going to be making a video about my most anticipated 2014 releases, but here’s a sneak peek at my top three: The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan, Cress by Marissa Meyer, and Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. For the rest, you’ll just have to wait and see! :)
Hey, I love your youtube! I've read some series I've really loved based on your recommendation and can I ask, can you recommend me a few dystopian series you've enjoyed? (I've read all of the more popular ones like Divergent, The Hunger Games, Delirium, Uglies, Legend, Shatter Me) Thanks! :)
Thank you! And hmm, you’ve read all my normal dystopian recs, so let’s see… These are more “dystopian-ish” than straight up dystopian, but I would suggest Reboot by Amy Tintera (zombies), Across the Universe by Beth Revis (space), The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey (alien invasion), and Cinder by Marissa Meyer (sci-fi fairytale retelling).
Of these series, my favorite is The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder) but check them all out and see which one sounds the best to you!
I loved reading Vampire Academy, Bloodlines, and Obsidian, and I was wondering if you have any good supernatural/sci-fi recommendations? P.S. I really like how you're so enthusiastic about books ^_^ Your videos are so fun to watch!
First: thank you! Second: based off the series you mentioned, I would recommend checking out the Unearthly trilogy by Cynthia Hand, the Hex Hall trilogy by Rachel Hawkins, and the Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier. They’re all really fun series with cool paranormal aspects, great humor, and shippable romances! :)
What do you think is a good age to start booktubing?
Well, you have to be at least 13 years old to have a YouTube account, so I think that is a good minimum age! But of course it depends on the person and their parents!
